CLAES

In the life of an artist, hopefully one’s own life’s evolution is affected as one’s artistry grows.
This is my art imitates life story.

It all started during a time when I was somewhat lost as an artist and as a person.
During travel between European venues one night, and after weeks of reading
Paulo Coelho, Dalai Lama and Don Miguel Ruiz,
I came to the realization that my whole focus has been driven by a negative energy that I now call “self focused” with only one aim: “what is in this for me?”
It took me the rest of my little European tour to realize the importance of this: music is not so much about showing off your guitar playing skills, for example. When the listener really cares to engage and be moved is after they feel the artist is connecting with them, sharing the artist’s innermost experience in an accessible and authentic way with some humility.

My writing started to move away from a self-focused perspective to one of “what can I give?”
Feeling at peace with this new perspective, I traveled to Miami, Nashville and the Bay Area to find collaborators in all the aspects of the music scene.
Every place I went I was met with open arms and smiling faces.  Hmmm…

It was here in the states, in this new musical landscape, where I started to feel the Momentum building.
I found a harmony between my upbringing as kid with a desire for adventurous travel and a mom who loved to sing, my Scandinavian sense of melody and the energy of ”what can I give?”.
Now the Momentum has brought me to meet a whole team of lovely people whom are all working hard on bringing this artistic vision to life.

We Call it The Momentum Project
